Nigel Burley
Nigel Burley grew up in Sydney & moved to Melbourne to realize his dream of becoming a professional classical ballet dancer. After graduating from The Australian Ballet School in Melbourne, Nigel joined the Australian Ballet Company. He became a soloist in 1994 and Senior Artist in 1995. In 1998, he moved to THARP! (The Twyla Tharp Dance Company) in New York. In 1999, he joined The Royal Ballet in London as a first soloist, and then he became a principal artist in The Australian Ballet, Melbourne in 2001. After 2003, he started teaching young dancers. From 2005, he was the Head of Classical Ballet at McDonald College and the Artistic Director of Premier State Ballet in Sydney.
Due to an injury Nigel retired from dancing, but now teaches the Pilates method.
