Jiri Bakala

Jiří Bakala is a director, cinematographer, and editor with more than thirty years of professional experience in film and television production. His work spans documentary, television, corporate, and commercial productions for broadcasters, institutions, and private clients.

From 2003 to 2025, he ran Ascent Films Inc., an incorporated production company based in Canada. During that time he directed, shot, edited, and produced projects delivered to major Canadian, U.S., and international broadcasters.

Available as a director of photography, camera operator, or editor, Jiri brings strong technical expertise in cinematography, lighting, editing, sound editing and design, and broadcast delivery standards. In addition to his crew work, he has extensive experience producing and overseeing productions from development through final delivery.
