Fourteen-year-old Michi cannot cope with the unexplained death of his father. After attempting suicide, his mother sends him to a Catholic boarding school, where he manages to endure the restrictive rules only with the help of his friendship with Lorenz, a drug-addicted priest, and Marenka, a kitchen assistant.
