ASP: Wacken Open Air 2022

The German dark-rock band ASP bring their "Gothic Novel Rock" to the world's biggest heavy metal festival. Recorded in the small hours of Saturday 6 August 2022 on the Louder Stage at Wacken Open Air (W:O:A #31) in Wacken, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the 78-minute set opens with "Die letzte Zuflucht" - the title that hangs above the band's logo on the stage backdrop all night - and runs through "Wechselbalg", "Denn ich bin der Meister", "Schwarzes Blut" and "Kokon" before closing with "Ich will brennen / Fortsetzung folgt...". Fronted by singer Alexander "Asp" Frank Spreng in corpse paint and a floor-length leather coat, the show was streamed and broadcast in full by MagentaMusik as part of the official W:O:A 2022 livestream programme.
