As Sania helps her Aunt Sybil prepare traditional Trinidadian bread, she listens to tales of forest protectors and mischievous spirits from Caribbean folklore. When a towering Moko Jumbie-the guardian of the forest-appears, its imposing presence unsettles her, leaving her unsure of its intentions. But when a Douen, an evil childlike spirit with backward feet and no mouth, materializes, the true gravity of the tale begins to unfold.
